I am back at work, handling an operation of the information center while juggling all the pending administrative work. It’s all a mix of solution after solution, seeing another loophole, solving it, and just a cycle that goes on and on, trusting that there is a graceful way out of these problems. Career is something that we have to take care and at the same time believing that God will turn everything into place in His time. I was in pain for realizing I could not handle multiple tasks and expected to do them outstandingly. I have been lacking focus. But well. I believe, all is well that ends well and nothing is impossible if we do our best.

I am developing a couple of hobbies. Journaling – because journaling and planning saved me countless times! I thought it was God’s gift, an existing armor of me. I am into herbs and spices. If you have just seen how my studio’s cabinet turned into. I was fond of recipes lately, passionately following Marion Grasby and Panlasang Pinoy, and @dearnomdiary and @ponytailcamper on Instagram. I thought their pages were so inspiring! I love cooking and I hope it will love me back too. Lol. Honestly, these things are making me sane. Plus, these are not so expensive since I have managed to collect kitchen tools way back in my more comfortable years and I am harvesting the fruit of those little investments.

I am also back into content creation, specifically on Instagram and X, and also for the info center that I am currently handling. Thereafter many things that I have to go through, and there are passions that I just let to rest for a time. For now, I am slowly tapping them, hoping they will wake up.

How’s life really? These days, I prefer to go home. Maybe when my mom was sick, I saw how important it is to be home as much as possible, to balance your priorities. As much as I would want to build a more comfortable future, I do not want to be too desperate. God is always in control and I have to trust His process, and I feel like I want to be present now at home. I also work on balancing my time in the city and in going home to our town in a sense that I would spend too much. This year, the financial aspect of my life is greatly challenged. Truly in the past few months my bank moved a lot. There are so many tears involve, headaches, heartaches of budgeting too tightly. But all I feel somehow when time gets easier is that how can I complain, how can I be stressed when miracles happened in so many months. Having to live the same or I say more manageable life after my mom’s hospitalization is but a revelation of God’s goodness to me. Whenever I remember it all, I cry. Because I do not know how it happened. I still do not know how everything worked for me, but all I can think is I never stopped praying and asking.

Emotions aside, I am writing now because this blog documented my life and plans, and how wonderful to see this page still alive somehow, receiving several partnerships. For that, I am beyond thankful. My personal experience is my blog’s niche and I somehow want to continue it that way. This place is my happy place, after all, and I want this blog to be just as authentic as possible, a home that my community and I can go back to, a place where I do not check statistics or engagements but see that people are reading. I know because when I encounter some of you, I will learn that you have read my blog. Maybe already traditional for 2023 but my heart is grateful. Thank you.

Going on, after several months, I also happen to attend many events. Because of this blog, I am still a blogger. Hehe.

Below is during the recent lighting event and launching of Sparkling Uptown Holidays of SM Cagayan de Oro. You would know you’re back in the arena when you find yourself curling your hair and ironing your clothes for an event.

I also happen to attend the BDO Thanksgiving Dinner, on behalf of my blogger sister achi Karen Sanchez of CDO Lifestyle. I would like to thank our friends from ROAR Agile Communicators for being so generous. In addition, for a K drama lover, I thank them for bringing us to Ajirang Korean Restaurant, a place I have looked forward of visiting.

There was also a time when I was invited for a get-together at Cucina Higala, a heritage cuisine in Cagayan de Oro. It was the place where I spent my 25th birthday and I know it would be my favorite restaurant.

What makes self-confidence, or what makes us confident with ourselves?

There are millions of things I heard in different conversations about self-confidence. One friend said it is walking in the middle of the crowd, confidently being yourself, smiling and unashamed of what you are, and instead of being abashed, you are happy with what you are. Another friend said it is like working out two hours every day and just being happy with your progress, to wear edgy dresses, even if you have your favorite shaping dress in.

I see self-confidence as a win in every little thing that I do. You see, my own journey of being confident is an ongoing battle and I am happy that it gave me the realization that it is very fine to define your own path to self-confidence.

Self-confidence for me is the icing at the end of my little things, I would say that again. I feel confident right after I wear make-up and even more when I realize the day is worth making myself up. I feel confident if I have that shaping bodysuit on because I am very fine with it. I feel confident right after I wore that heels on, the kind that it is so proper to where I am going on a certain day. I love those ’90s heels, broad and not pointy. I feel confident right after I read the entire file because I knew I was able to comprehend the document enough and respond properly.

My self-confidence journey is in the stage where I am still working out for it and that is important to know because I know in me that I have to give myself grace whenever I am on my not-so-confident period. What I should do that whether I am still at it or confidence is on its upward spiral, what I want myself to do at that moment is to give my best a tap on the back and say you will be there up again. Another thing that I will be telling to myself is “Yes, dear, buy that lip mousse, buy that strapless shapewear slips, buy that shoes if you really like it!” I think, in that small thing, that would be the start. Clearly, that start is making friends with yourself to believe in yourself.

Needless to say, only months to go and we will celebrate the successful end of 2023. The last few months for me have been quite challenging, giving me the idea to truly invest in our health by eating heart-healthy food, more often selecting greeny greens in the community market, doing my best to free myself from unnecessary stress, and more importantly, moving more and burning bad cholesterol by doing morning exercises wearing that shapewear bodysuit I like so much, or even moving around between busy hours.

Speaking of exercising, lately, I have been walking a lot. I already missed doing yoga, pilates, and even my 6pm jog at the sports center. Different from my routine six months ago, my consistent sitting in front of my desk gave me more fat to burn. My weight went down by 47 kilos but still, I can feel that there are still extras in my waist and neck.

Dressing up is so important for my work. I meet a lot of people days in a week and weeks in a month. I converse, interview, verify facts, and monitor. Hence, I have to be my confident self most of the time. I have to dress well or else my communication process will not be so good. I learned from my Communications professor during college that in order for you to speak well, communicate successfully, and deliver outstandingly the signals that you have to send to your receiver, it is so important not to be affected by external factors, such as insecurities and having low self-esteem.

Having to realize this, I thought to myself to make sure that, I am pretty – for me and look well-dressed – for me. Hence, whether I worked out or not, I have to be my best self. It is but challenging to magic me out, but thankfully, I found this built in shapewear dress. This allows me to be the better version of myself infront and beyond my mirror.

Ah, it’s so good to be here. How many months since I talked to you? They said blogs went out of style because there are video blogs already. More expressive, more impressive. However, what this introvert can only do? I think I would babbling a lot but not sharing enough. I get shy though in the camera though. Wink wink.

It’s been a tough year since. I mean since big things happened last year and I guess it completely changed me. Yes, who would ever know another’s change of heart can be destructive to someone. Right then, when I was about to move on and meet with life once again, my mom was rushed to the hospital because of cardiac arrest. Thankfully, God’s mercies and miracles happened to our family. After two months since the incident happened, my mom has undergone coronary angioplasty for her two affected vessels and I am thankful she is recovering well. Please continue praying with me.

Saying ‘life before my 30th is tough’ is an understatement. The experience slapped me hard and told me I am an adult already, needing to stand on my own feet. I have always been dependent on my mother’s care and my family’s protection. Never did I realize they are growing old too. But I was told to give myself grace. Right now, my heart is grateful because when a lot happened to me and my family, I received God’s revelation of His blessings and miracles in different forms – faith, strength, sincere and generous people, knowledge, understanding, and love. I was always apprehensive and doubtful, always afraid of what might life throw at me and to us, and now, my heart has always been hopeful and optimistic of many good things this life would bless me with. God is in control. There are times my weakness visits me but I know everything will be fine if we keep on trusting and believing.

That was 10 months, another 10 months that my deepest prayers once again saved me, and I am continuously holding on to this light inside me. I am journeying on to yet a better year.

Another good news for all of us is that almost all government agencies and private establishments extend their services online. Personally, I appreciate this new method because reality-check I am also a busy person who cannot easily process over-the-counter. Two years ago, I tried requesting a copy of PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority) – authenticated birth certificate for my passport application online and it arrived only a few days after. I said, “Woah, this is very fast and convenient.”

Last night, I visited the same PSA Helpline website and I found that only after a few months, the site has become more user-friendly. PSA Helpline is a PSA-authorized service provider of online requests and nationwide delivery of certificates. If you are someone who has to request online, let me tour you around their website and how to request your document.

1. First, you have to access PSA Helpline through https://psahelpline.ph. It displays the certificates you may request from PSA Helplines, their definitions, on how they would deliver it and how many days it would take both within Metro Manila or in the provinces. Once you access the site, a PSA Birth Certificate Online Application and Delivery window will appear. Then, click Order Now.

2. This window will then appear. You have to choose the Certificate type, whether it is Birth Certificate, Marriage Contract, CENOMAR, or Death Certificate. Then tap check on the box beside “I accept the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.”

As for me, I requested Birth Certificates. Right after that, another window will appear. It basically says about the document you are requesting for. If there were changes made to it before, or have you tried requesting before. For me, I clicked No for Item 1 and Yes for Item 2 since I have requested 3 copies of my birth certificate before for my passport and also part for school requirements. After you have done that, click Next.

3. Right after that, PSA Helpline will ask if you are requesting for your own document or for someone else, whether for your father, mother, son or daughter. After deciding, you have to click the Continue button.

4. Once you click what the document is for, another window will appear to brief you on the details they will be asking thereon. If you will be requesting for your own Birth Certificate, for example, the following will appear.

5. Right after that, you need to fill in the required information. You will also be asked for the purpose of the request. Simply click Next once you are done and you have to fill out another form for Delivery and Contact Information.

6. After clicking Next once more, a window will appear. It is the summary of all that you have entered. Thereafter, you have to input how many copies you will be asking, and then PSA Helpline will let you confirm that you will personally receive the requested document in the address that you entered and present the identification card upon receiving.

7. The next page will display the payment method you may use to pay for the documents. There are multiple methods that you may use, as shown in the screencap below.

Another good thing about PSA Helpline is they will send you another confirmation at your provided mobile number or e-mail address. For example, when I used the DragonPay, it will display as follows:

If you want to trace the status of your document days after you made the request and payment, you may visit the PSA Helpline homepage once more.

You may simply input the Reference Number and there you have it, you can follow the progress and where your document already is.
