Located at SM Cagayan De Oro, Regus CDO Downtown Tower boasts customizable workspaces fit for any business in an effort to boost local economy

CAGAYAN DE ORO, Philippines, 08 August 2023 – Homegrown developer for sustainable real estate in the South, Damosa Land, reinforces economic growth and productivity in the region through the launch of the first flexible office workspace in Northern Mindanao. The new Regus CDO Downtown Tower, located at the heart of Cagayan De Oro City, is made possible through a partnership with workspace solutions provider International Workspace Group (IWG). Under the franchise partnership agreement, Damosa Land Inc. is granted the exclusivity to develop and operate IWG centers across Mindanao.

Regus, an IWG brand and an expert at providing professional workspaces that can be customized to the needs of any business, has helped design 1,136 square meters of office space, co-working areas, meeting rooms, and business lounges that can accommodate 249 work seating capacity.

The strategic partnership is a significant milestone for Damosa Land as it pushes for more accessible and well-equipped workspaces in the region. The new development located at the top floor of SM CDO Downtown Tower is equipped with mindful workspaces, allowing future tenants to streamline their overall workflow and improve their productivity.

The unveiling of the new Regus CDO Downtown Tower was led by IWG Country Manager and Senior Vice President Lars Wittig and Damosa Land President Ricardo Lagdameo through a ribbon-cutting ceremony and site blessing.

“Our partnership with IWG enables business owners to maximize efficiencies using the hybrid work model. We hope to encourage more businesses to follow suit in the city of Cagayan De Oro as we invite more potential investors to focus on the region,” shares Damosa Land President Ricardo “Cary” Lagdameo.

“While we continue to push for more developments in Mindanao, it’s important for us to remain socially conscious on how we can further aid the needs of our local communities. We believe that, through this launch, we can welcome more job opportunities for the locals while embracing the new normal working conditions.”

Boosting productivity and economic growth in Mindanao

The pandemic enabled companies globally to transition to alternative work arrangements, including hybrid or flexible work setups. In order to meet these global demands, businesses in the Philippines also pushed for more dynamic work arrangements that allow employees to work flexibly in their own comfortable spaces.

The first flexible office workspace hub in Northern Mindanao will give locals and visitors access to versatile spaces that can provide growth opportunities for new businesses and can boost employee productivity for established businesses.

IWG, supported by Damosa Land’s commitment to Mindanao’s economic growth, will redefine the workplace industry by providing its potential clients with ease of doing business through ready workspaces, and equip more Filipinos with flexible options and tools to maximize their efficiency. They look forward to expanding to more areas in the Philippines as the country adapts to more flexible work arrangements.

“Through the launch of this project with Damosa Land, we get to stay abreast of the evolving nature of work and enable the region to attract more investors in the long run. We look forward to equipping more Filipinos with all-inclusive, digitally-ready, and comfortable working spaces as we showcase Mindanao, its people, and its potential, both on a local and global scale,” says Lars Wittig, IWG Country Manager, and Senior Vice President.

Just recently, I got invited to attend the grand opening of T Cube, a one-stop shop located at the booming Uptown Cagayan de Oro. I am so glad to be at the event because of the fact that it is designed to meet the need of hustling people who I could relate to. We are busy every day, juggling activities to activities, considering our very limited time and we could appreciate establishments who help us maximize our time.

T Cube is a five-in-one lifestyle venue for Kagay-anon families. Yes, five. in. one.

It has a carwash and laundry lounge, and at the same time coffee shop, nail spa and KTV rooms you can enjoy while waiting for your carwashing or laundry to be done.

The coffee shop is called Velvet Cafe. They offer different kinds of sweets and drinks, as well as all-day breakfast. They do not offer alcoholic drinks to ensure that families are safe while bonding and making memories together. My favorite in the menu is the Mocha Java Chip frappe.

Velvet Cafe is also a very good Instagram backdrop. They have colorful interiors and pastel-designed chairs.

Karaoke KTV rooms on the other hand is the one located in their second floor. They have 3 rooms. Usage of the big room is Php 500.00 per hour, while the other two smaller rooms are Php 300.00 per hour. But wait, there’s more! Karaoke KTV has happy hour. They charge Php 300.00 per hour for big room and Php 200 for smaller rooms from 10am to 3pm every Mondays to Thursdays.

These are the small rooms. It can accommodate up to 10 pax.

(In the photo) In blue is the owner, Ms. Hannah Tanog. The photo is taken inside the Big KTV Room. It can accommodate up to 20 pax. Costumers can also choose to watch Netflix (They are still working on this) if they want. Food from the cafe can be taken or ordered upstairs.

Their open space at the second floor is also open for events.

This is their Laundry Lounge. For self-service washing, they charge Php 100.00 per load and Php 25.00 per kilo for drop and pick-up.

Their carwash Drip ‘N Dry Carwash is open 7am to 10pm everyday.

The one I love the most is their Nail Luxe spa. Nail Luxe spa features Halal nail polish and products especially offered to gentlemen and kids!

I enjoyed the event so much, even though it indeed fall on a Sunday. Hehe! It all worth the travel. Check out these photos of the program, venue tour, and as well my photos with CDO Bloggers fam, Events by J & T and T Cube Management and Staff.

Mayor Oscar Moreno led the ribbon-cutting.

T Cube can be found at Regatta Square, Paseo Drive, Pueblo de Oro Business Park in Upper Carmen, just right across SM City Uptown.

Last January, I attended the launching of Asian-themed art exhibit of 44 artists under CHAN LIM Family of Artists and Students at SM CDO Downtown Premier. This was held in view of the last Chinese New Year.

273 hand-painted lanterns were displayed showcasing multitude of media, styles and techniques to incorporate Western into Eastern art, which the three generations of Chan Lim Family used. Art subjects include flora, fauna, landscape and portraits.

I am honestly so glad to have been invited for an exhibit. I mean, Art, paintings have engraved something in me, that I look forward to every opportunity where I could experience Art, discover and learn more and deeper.

According to Leo Tolstoy, “Art is not a handicraft, it is the transmission of feeling the artist has experienced.”  Another artist, Pablo Picasso, said that “Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.” Indeed, seeing so many hand-painted lanterns opened my curious mind once again. Every lantern that I saw gives a story, like what this particular artwork tries to tell me. The experience is enriching and offers vast of ideas. The feeling it gives you is overwhelming and yes, relaxing at the same time.

Chan Lim Family also conducted a workshop on Chinese brush painting and was participated by media, bloggers, vloggers, social media influencers and even mall visitors. My blogger friends and I, and even my officemate Vince (who joined the Exhibit Launch as well), enjoyed doing. In fact, I laughed hard at my work, but hopeful I could paint once again in the near future.

Below are the photos during the launching program:

Shout out to Kim Deramar. Blur, besh. 😀

Alongside hand-painted lanterns exhibit, sister-mall SM CDO Uptown also featured three giant fans of the same theme.

It is that time of the year once again! Ending the year means having a new planner to straight your things right and being ready in facing the new year 2020.

Gifting Grateful Campaign

It’s good that along with your goal of beginning 2020 with the right mindset, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf takes on a fresh take on the holiday season through their Gifting Grateful Campaign.

Every year, proceeds from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s Giving Journal are given to Real LIFE Foundation, providing avenues for educational assistance, character formation, and leadership development.

Choose to #SupportSustainable by collecting 18 stamps by purchasing 17 coffee-based or tea-based beverages and one-holiday drink.

Gifting Grateful and 2020 Giving Journal Launch in Cagayan de Oro City

Last November 16, The Coffee Bean and Leaf Tea launched their Gifting Grateful Campaign in their Limketkai Gateway Park Branch, and I am so grateful to be invited in their launch.

I enjoyed re-learning the art of giving. They walked us through different booth consisting the right attitude that we must have: Cheer, Thankful, Joyful, Happiness, Dream, Grateful, and Celebrate Together. Each booth had us an activity to do.

In Cheer, we have to choose our drink. I chose White Chocolate Dream.

For Thankful, we were given Thankful Card that we could give to a person we are thankful for.

In the Joyful booth, we were given chocolate cookies uniquely formed equivalent to Friendship and being joyful in our lives.

For Happiness, we visited the Gifting Grateful photo booth and smiled at the camera.

We were then challenged to do a meaningful Flat Lay Photo in the Dream booth. The flat lay should show the true meaning and vision or dream of Gifting Grateful Campaign through the Giving Journal 2020.

For Grateful, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s partner foundation, Real LIFE Foundation oriented us about their current project with Bulua National High School. They have 20 scholars given with free tuition fee, miscellaneous fees and monetary support for other needs, and this will continue until they finish college. We also learned that aside from the scholarship, the foundation also provides regular orientation like reminding them about the right values, for them to be citizens for others and for each to be someone in the future.

I just hope that more people and more volunteers will do the same because I believe each simple step is a great step in changing the world to be better.

I finally completed the tour!

And in Celebrating Together, bloggers and visitors gathered together with a good food and did meaningful conversations. I was also happy to bond once again with my CDO Bloggers family.

Photo from CDO Bloggers Pressy! Mommy Ruby Caberte.

Shout out to Karl who is moving to the States. Huhu. It was his last CDO event before his flight. Go “literally” far and high, FARRR! (Yes, I call him Far for a funny reason. Lols.)

The Surprise Box!

Thank you so much, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, for making me part of your meaningful event.

Guys, visit CBTL branch nearest you or access their website and Facebook Page for more details about 2020 Giving Journal, tumblers and newest holiday drinks.

Being exposed to various areas including Lanao del Norte, Marawi and Lanao del Sur made me discover their local food. There was this time when I traveled with DSWD in Balo-i, it was there that I first tasted “Palapa.” It is from their “One Town One Product” displays. It was also in Karkum village of Sapad, Lanao del Norte, that I get to eat this delicious “Doldol.”

This is the reason that I am the happiest when I learned about Babu Kwan Restaurant, the first ever restaurant offering Maranao food. It reminds me of my younger years, where I began exploring about different amazing things outside my comfort zone.

Babu Kwan offer a lot of flavours ranging from seafood, veges, beef to chicken dishes that will ultimately win your heart. Moreover, the ambiance of the place will transcend you to beautiful restos in Lanao del Sur. They have uniquely designed tables and chairs. And oh, I love their chairs. It somewhat mini version of our center table in the office, our “Baul” having delicately designed white paint on it, that our office bought in Marawi. Plus, they display pretty wall decors.

Below are my personal picks (And I tell you, it was quite hard to pick):

1. Fish Kwan

2. BK Wings

3. Garlic Shrimp

4. Fries at Babu Kwan

5. Cara/Beef Randang

6. Lumpia

Mga higala, were you able to catch the exciting cooking session of Celebrity Chef Donita Rose in Centrio Mall, Cagayan de Oro last August 30, 2018?

With Regional Festivals rounding up in the country this coming months, Chef Donita Rose, along with Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil, started touring Cagayan de Oro to celebrate the Higalaay Festival last August.

Chef Donita Rose with local chefs, Chef James Damasco and Chef Perlie Tanat at Shopwise Limketkai.

Chef Donita shared her own twist on the famous Higalaay dish of Sinuglaw, composed of sinugba (grilled pork) and kinilaw. The dish was made more flavorful and healthier with the use of Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil, which is Chef Donita’s most recommended kitchen staple as it’s packed with good fats such as Omega 3 and 6 that are great for the heart. It also has Vitamin A that helps improve eyesight and has the lowest saturated or bad fats among all kinds of cooking oil which makes it a healthier option. Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil also has a high smoking point making it the most ideal cooking oil for frying and deep frying.

“Going around the Philippines during these wonderful festivals and sharing my twist on the local recipes is always such a fun and fulfilling experience for me. It’s truly an honor to be part of what Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil has been doing in providing healthier and affordable food choices in local communities and helping spread the heart-healthy goodness of home cooking,” said Chef Donita.

Additionally, it was a fun-filled treat to Cagayan de Oro’s local moms and foodies who also got a chance to sample Chef Donita’s own rendition of Sinuglaw during her live cooking demo at Centrio Mall last August 30, 2018. Local Supermarket samplings were also done in Robinson’s and Shopwise Supermarkets in Cagayan De Oro.

“We are thrilled to bring Chef Donita and Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil to our local festival activations,” said Fly Ace Corporation Group Product Manager for Edible Oils, Zen Prudentino. “We want to continue educating Filipinos nationwide about the importance of using heart-healthy cooking oil in everyday cooking. We don’t need to sacrifice the taste and flavor of our meals; it’s definitely possible to always prepare healthy and delicious meals with Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil,” she added.

Festival menus are usually oily but with Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil, we can now eat guilt-free knowing that our food choices promote heart-healthy and may help with disease prevention. With the country’s consistent No. 1 and most trusted cooking canola oil brand, Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil provides a healthy and affordable option in cooking our favorite festival dishes.

Chef Donita, together with GMA and Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil, is excited to prepare healthy dishes during her next Festival Tour in Vigan City’s Raniag Festival in October and for the Aklanons during the highly anticipated Ati-Atihan Festival in January.

I went to University DugOut Food Bazaar last week in Corrales Avenue to check out their food. They opened only last June 20.

It is a student incubation hub, made for feasibility studies of Xavier University students, and first of its kind here in CDO. University DugOut helps these youngsters equip knowledge and gain handy and proper training in managing and handling food business.

These students already acquire business permits, sanitary certificates and other government documents proving the public that their food products are prepared and processed with utmost cleanliness and safety. Comes to place, it is spacious enough and tables and chairs were uniquely designed to fit the mood of the place. According to Mr. Irwin Jamaca, initiator of University DugOut, he let the brands design their own place that would best fit their kind of food business and would help them in marketing their place. In addition, he reserved one corner of the place for display of jerseys owned by MVPs and players of different sports from XU. Mr. Jamaca was an instructor under Business Administration in XU and is currently guiding these students terms of Marketing (XU Business Ad instructors monitor the students regularly). He envisioned this University DugOut to run in a long span, equipping entrep students with rare experience and lessons from a real scene of doing business.

There are eight (8) brands inside the University DugOut incubation hub. They are Kini Rogers (How witty!), The Taco Point, Chixee Fried, Surfries! by Frito Co., Camppas, Food Stax, Chenee, and The Next Sisigan. Learning about these brand names made me realize how creative our youth nowadays and I expect of more food businesses to sprout out here is CDO years from now.

I tried out each one of their food snacks which mostly are similar to ones offered in movie houses just like taco, fries, nachos, rice toppings and chips.

Below are few of my faves which I highly recommend to all of you.

Chicken Fries (All-in Chicken Strips + Fries + Potato Crunch + Drinks)

Cheenut Meal

Filipino Style Tacos

Surfries! (Wait for the surprise!)

Chix ‘N Pesto Meal

Spicy Chicken Glaze

Nestea drink

I know you’re craving side is feeling giddy to eat! So, what are you waiting for? Visit University DugOut Food Bazaar at 2nd Floor, Jamaca Building, Corrales Avenue, Cagayan de Oro City (Near Hotel Xentro, and infront of Pizzarella) and see for yourself the mouth-watering offerings our XU students prepared for us. Stores open at 8am until 8pm.

Documenting my visit. LOL.

Check my blogger bestie's blog, CDO Sightseer (sightseerpinay.com; cdosightseer.blogspot.com)

Thanks Ters for the company! Lablab. Mua!

I don’t have a decent photo with him, but I thank Sir Irwin Jamaca for accommodating us during our visit.

University DugOut is also on Facebook. Check them here.

CardMasters Cagayan de Oro, a daughter establishment for Marcommax Enterprises, has been my go-to place when it comes to tarpaulin printing, brochure printing, plaques, customized items such as USB flash disks, mugs, pens and the like. This company has saved me from a lot of instant assignments when it comes to event organizing and I am so happy for their expansion. Being originally located at Rizal Street, this city, they recently opened a branch at Capistrano and the most current is at SM City Cagayan de Oro (Floor 3), at the uptown CDO which is very near to our location, and which is good for me!

I caught up during their grand opening, and interact a little bit with the owner, Ms. Mary Ann Afable. I found out they are friends with my former boss, Sir Dante Sudaria of BusinessWeek Mindanao Corp. for their offices are next to each other during the old days in CDO Divisoria.

Below are the photos I took which mostly are the products they offered to offices, educational institutions and individuals alike.

In black is Ms. Ann Afable, and her family. Congratulations to your grand opening!

Big Bite Food Festival is an annual celebration of different cuisines serve around the city of Cagayan de Oro. I am so thankful to Centrio Mall and Ms. Helen Grace Uy (my college instructor!) and her Professional Organizers Unlimited, Inc. team for partnering us Cagayan de Oro Bloggers, and letting us participate in the Big Bite Food Tour and be one of the evaluators for food establishments in different categories. I considered it one of most challenging events that I have participated because how could you rank food establishments when you rate them just the same? Because they’re all outstanding in taste, presentation and all that? Indeed, all are competitive, and it is a tough but enjoying blogger assignment of all time.

So much for that assignment, what made me enjoy the event is – okay, aside from the free taste that made my super dinner that night (Lol!), I have come to realize how varied our CDO food are. There is no need for you to find your taste and cravings in other cities because we already have everything! You just have to explore because CDO restaurants have their own creativity and uniqueness there is no such place for “sumo” (monotonous) food. They are all delicious and something to be proud of. Back in time I have visitors, it was a difficulty for me to where I would tour them, aside from Pasalubong Centers. I realized it does not have to be that difficult. You could bring them to Centrio Mall, to Curry Curry, to Barkadahan, to Kenko Naicha Tea House and so many others.

The four-day event simply brought out the thought that there is so much Cagayan de Oro City could offer and I am super delighted by this.

Below are photos of few of the many booths we toured to.
