The Mr. & Mrs. Metante
Love is indeed the most wonderful thing we can give and receive in this life. When we love, we feel complete. It is an inspiration that help us survive and go through life.
However, truth be told, it does not only take love for us to choose a person. There is always the need for security, the thought of even at our worst, at our ugliest, and most doubtful state, the person will choose us over and over again. This is the reason we have our first love and true love and all in between. Might be, first love and even the ‘in-betweens’ could not be our true love because all those fade when we feel no security, for the reason that that love could be outcast by other reasons and priorities we deemed more important at that time – might be studies, work schedule, family and others.
It is then, people choose to wait. They wait for the person they feel destined for them, who will make them feel assured, whom they trust to love them both at their best and worst, who will make them happy and complete, who will fill the holes inside their hearts, who will make them choose them – over other important things.
It is always a wonder for me if I will have the same person to be with me in the future. My parents keep telling to pray for that person, because they said only God will give the best partner in life.
Last week, I am so lucky to witness a union of two persons, Ate Melanie Joan Zamayla-Palatino and Bro. Devin Metante, whose beautiful love story is something I am wishing to have in the near future. Both found each other at the right time and right reason. Their wedding showed the same substance. The vows are sincere. It is perfect.

I admire her for she is an inspiration, and much more now, for finding the person who perfectly fit her, after a long time. Indeed, everything worth having is worth waiting. It pays to have patience, and the best will come if you trust God’s perfect timing.
I remember she once told me, “Idaan lang ‘yan sa prayer.” Their relationship, and union are but epitome on what faith can do, mixed with right amount of patience and perseverance.
Ergo, on the 30th of April 2018, they exchanged vows of forever at the beautiful Iglesia Ni Cristo Chapel, Locale of Cebu City, in front of their parents, families, relatives and friends.
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise.” (2 Peter 3:9)
“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” (Hebrew 10:36)
“Love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

The reception was at the green and rustic-romantic Montebello Villa Hotel. The program after the ceremony is but a celebration of love, friendship and family rolled into one. (I also realized how friends could not care with our cute image and push us to be someone silly. LOL.)
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Metante for having us. Cheers to fruitful life ahead. Mwuah!
