Touchdown Dvo!
(Davao Trip: Day 1)
Hello everyone! Hehehe. Again, my apologies for another blogging hiatus. If you follow me on Facebook, you will see a flooding photo set of me traveling to Davao. Yes. First of all, I would like to thank Philippine Information Agency – Region 10 for inviting me to go with them. Actually, the travel was intended for Aboitiz Group Media Appreciation Night. It is an annual event commonly held by the company on last months of the year to express gratitude to all media practitioners and development communicators for the shared company stories.
The event happened on the night of October 7. So, I woke up early because we are supposed to leave by 6:00am.
I packed the night before and ensure that I will be wearing right clothes because it will be a long 6 hours travel. So, I made sure that I will be covered up, and thankful to that idea, my travel experience went smooth than my previous travels which I really hate the feeling of dizziness, headache and sickness.
I did not sleep while on the road. You see, it was my first time to travel south via land; during my Kamindanawan participation at the same Davao before, we traveled through airplane. Another thing is, the view outside is really tantalizing! It was so funny when Bernadith (PIA-Bukidnon admin officer) and I looked at each other with a thinking of, “can we stop here and take a pic?” and then vocally say, “we should travel back on our own and take photos with these views.” To add, I so remembered that “The Over View” place in Quezon, Bukidnon. Really, I will go back there some time soon and indulge in the richness and relaxing view of endless mountains and cottons of clouds. Honestly, our event bosses are so kind they can actually let us, but I think, we are on a hurry and asking that thing seemed really stupid.
We made stop overs at Malaybalay City for a heavy lunch at Manada Cafe and a quick durian eating session. Hehe. I was not really fond of eating such fruit because a lot of people say the smell made it taste bad and I subconsciously joined the bandwagon, until that time. Upon the fruit was opened, the vendor was really shocked he forgot to offer us the gloves because Ma’am Thelma (PIA-10 Regional Director), Sir Bobby (Rappler reporter) and Ma’am Jam (PIA-10 IO) have started devouring the fruit already. Perhaps because the fruit is so color light yellow and it do look delicious and right, it is delicious!
We arrived at Davao mid 2:00 and 3:00pm. Tired, we instantly drove towards elegant Hotel Tropika and took hours of rest. Thankfully, we still have hours to relax before preparing and going to the event.
I’m reinventing my style guide and decided to put multiple photos in grid.
